Cycling Industry Takes Collective Action on Global Supply Chain Responsibility

As a global industry, cycling depends on complex networks of suppliers, manufacturers, and partners spanning continents and cultures. The Cycling Industry Supply Chain Code of Conduct is the result of a joint initiative uniting cycling brands and industry organizations around a common standard for responsible global supply chains.

It is designed to support suppliers in the cycling industry and strengthen long-term partnerships by aligning expectations, reducing duplication, and creating greater consistency in social and environmental standards.

By establishing common principles, from human rights and safe working conditions to environmental responsibility, the Code enables coordinated industry action, helping companies and suppliers focus less on navigating differing requirements and more on driving progress together.

Companies across the cycling industry are encouraged to adopt the Code, helping them and the industry to:

  • reduce duplication across supply chains

  • ease the reporting burden on suppliers

  • simplify compliance

  • accelerate meaningful social and environmental progress across the cycling industry

Why adopt the Cycling Industry Supply Chain Code of Conduct?

“Canyon has always been about the ride, and that ride starts long before a bike hits the road. This Code is our way of joining forces within the bicycle industry, moving toward unified standards, and taking greater responsibility towards people and communities throughout the supply chain." Karim Bohn - CFO and Human Rights Officer Canyon Bicycles GmbH

“The Cycling Industry Supply Chain Code of Conduct needs all of us. It establishes binding, uniform social and environmental standards for the industry. The more companies that take part, the stronger these shared rules become. That’s how we step up together and take clear responsibility.” Sandra Wolf - CEO at Riese & Müller

“This industry-wide Code of Conduct is a milestone for the cycling industry. It shows our shared vision and empowers all companies in the cycling industry to contribute to this vision.” Patrizia Strupp - Head of Sustainability, Paul Lange & Co

“At MEC, we’re committed to responsible recruitment and recognize that today’s complex supply chains require practical, action-focused, collective solutions. The Cycling Industry Supply Chain Code of Conduct isn’t about creating another standard - it’s about working together to continuously improve conditions for the people who make our products, and we believe real change happens when more of us step up as changemakers.” Chris Speyer - Chief Merchandising Officer, Mountain Equipment Company
