A Barcamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees, but without pre-determined agendas, speakers, or outcomes planned by the organiser. This creates a space for exciting dynamic conversation and the sharing of new ideas among participants.

A core group of facilitators, in this case Shift Cycling Culture, are responsible for getting everyone in the same place and providing the venue, but the participants and their projects are the main event. Every participant will get 20 minutes to present their project, challenge or idea.

At the start of the day, participants will pitch their topic to the other attendees and will create the schedule for the day together. Interaction, inspiration and fun guaranteed!

Your contribution is your entrance ticket. This can be a discussion or a challenge you want others to share their input and experience. It could be something that you are working on, or want to tackle together with the other participants; regardless of what it is, it is a prerequisite to attend.

The entrance fee is €250 and includes the organisation of the event alongside drinks and food at the event (excluding the optional dinner). Yes. Even if there are more than one participant from the same organisation, we ask everyone to bring a topic around sustainability in the cycling world. If you are unsure about a topic or would like to discuss this with us in advance, please get in touch with Sandra@shiftcyclingculture.com. All participants will be asked to share their topic with Shift prior to the event.

The event will take place at Riese & Müller Headquarters in Mühltal, Germany.

We will serve a vegetarian and vegan lunch. If you have any dietary requests, please let us know them on the sign-up form.

Where will we ride?

• The bike ride will start at 15:00 CET from Riese & Müller after the factory tour at 14:00 CET. From here we’ll enjoy a leisurely, scenic cycle with a coffee stop. This is a relaxed social ride - not a test of fitness!

What kind of bike should I bring?

• Clunker to race bike, everything goes!

Do you have bikes available?

• Yes, please let us know you need a bike on registration.

Do I need to bring cycling gear (cycling clothes and helmet)?

• You do not need to wear cycling gear, but please bring a helmet if you are borrowing a bike.

There is no obligation to join us on Wednesday for the bike ride and factory tour. We think it's a great opportunity to spend time with your peers, meet and chat to like-minded people working in the cycling industry, whilst exploring the local area.
